Well established (1992), much enjoyed by students, welcomed by teachers and parents, and included in the Associated Board cello syllabus. This comprehensive 90-page course book contains imaginative and varied material, carefully graded and clearly laid out. Original illustrations by Peter Upton show instrument and bow-hold, body, arm and hand style and movement, and also many Shropshire scenes. Starting from Lesson 1, the course is planned to ensure steady progress by students of all ages.
In her Foreword, Joan Dickson recommends that young teachers could find this systematically planned approach particularly helpful.
