Uneasy Souls: a forgotten genius
An historical novel by Stephen Tunnicliffe
This novel is set in Naples, Zürich and principally
in the Berlin of the Weimar Republic during the first three
decades of the 20th century. The novel recreates the lives of two
people as they lived through those traumatic years, the tragic young
genius Wolfgang Graeser (1906-1928) and the dancer novelist Jo Mihaly
(1902-1989)
"A very rare combination of history, ideas and the study
and depiction of
character... much better than all the "biographies" which
keep being churned out... You have caught the atmosphere of that
very tricky period of German history very well, including a not
entirely dismissive awareness of some of the roots of Nazism"
Dorothy Thompson, historian.
